How it works
Set up once, read from anywhere
- 01
Connect your email
Sign in with Microsoft or Google, or add AOL, Yahoo, iCloud and other IMAP mailboxes with an app password.
- 02
Generate link
Create a private reader URL and choose which mailboxes it can show.
- 03
Read mail anywhere
Open the link on any device to see Inbox and Junk mail and copy codes instantly.
Features
Everything you need to read mail without logging in
Built for people who check one-time codes on many devices, share a support inbox with a teammate, or automate email-based tests.
Connect your email
Outlook, Microsoft 365, Gmail and Google Workspace through OAuth; AOL, Yahoo, iCloud, Zoho, hosting providers and company servers over IMAP. Connect several mailboxes to one account.
Generate private readers
Multiple reader links, each with its own name and mailbox permissions. Rotate or disable any of them instantly.
Instant email access
Inbox and Junk merged newest-first, with search, per-mailbox filters and fast loading on mobile.
Verification code detection
Likely one-time codes are highlighted with a copy button, using context so order numbers and dates are ignored.
API access
Fetch messages or the latest code from scripts and test suites with scoped, revocable API keys.
Security by design
Encrypted credentials, hashed secrets, sanitized email rendering, rate limiting and a full activity log.
Security
Designed to keep your mailbox in your control
A reader link is a bearer secret: anyone who has the URL can view the mailboxes assigned to it. InboxReader makes those links long, unguessable and easy to revoke — and tells you exactly how they work.
Read the security overviewProvider sign-in or app passwords
Outlook and Gmail use Microsoft or Google sign-in, so InboxReader never sees those passwords. Other providers use an app password you can revoke.
Encrypted credentials
Mailbox tokens and IMAP app passwords are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are written to the database.
Revocable links
Reader secrets are 256-bit random values stored as hashes. Rotate or disable a link and the old URL stops working.
Read-only access
Read-only provider permissions and read-only IMAP folders. InboxReader has no code to send, delete or change your email.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Does InboxReader store my email password?
Not for Outlook or Gmail: you sign in with Microsoft or Google, which gives InboxReader a revocable, read-only authorization, and your password never reaches InboxReader. For AOL, Yahoo, iCloud and other IMAP providers you create an app password, which InboxReader stores encrypted and you can revoke at your provider at any time.
Who can open my reader link?
People who meet the link’s access settings: optional expiry, access codes, session limits and an allowed signed-in email. Unrestricted links remain accessible to anyone with the exact URL. Treat it like a password: share it only with people and devices you trust, and rotate it immediately if it is exposed.
Does InboxReader keep copies of my email?
No. Messages are fetched live from your email provider when a reader or API request is made and are not saved to the InboxReader database.
Which accounts are supported?
Gmail, Google Workspace, Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live and Microsoft 365 through provider sign-in, plus AOL, Yahoo, iCloud, GMX, mail.com, Fastmail, Yandex, Zoho, hosting providers such as Hostinger, cPanel and Namecheap Private Email, and company mail servers over IMAP. Some organisations require an administrator to approve the app first.
Can InboxReader send or delete email?
No. It requests read-only Microsoft or Gmail permissions, opens IMAP folders read-only, and only displays the Inbox and Junk/Spam folders.
